Minnetonka is home base for us. A lot of the homes here are 1960s ramblers and mature two-stories, alongside newer builds. I'm Owen Atherton. If your roof's leaking, losing shingles or wearing out, I'll start with what's actually happening up there, not a sales pitch. We'll look at the details and talk through the repair, replacement, storm damage or gutter work you need before you commit.
A leak doesn't automatically mean you need a new roof. I trace it back to the source, whether that's flashing, a pipe boot, a valley or damaged decking. If a focused repair will hold, that's what I'll explain. If the roof's too far gone for another patch, I'll tell you that too. You should know why I'm recommending the work.
When it's time to replace the roof, we tear it off completely and check the decking for soft or damaged spots. We address ventilation and replace flashing at the roof transitions before the new shingles go down. I'll walk you through those steps and what's included in the estimate so you're not trying to piece it together once the crew arrives.
Hail and wind damage can be hard to see from the driveway. We take a closer look and photograph what we find. I can explain the roof side of an insurance claim and help you understand the damage. Your insurer decides coverage and the claim outcome. I won't promise something that's theirs to decide.
If water's getting into your house, give us a call rather than waiting to see whether it stops. We'll look at where it's coming from and explain the repair options. After a storm, photos and a record of what changed give you something concrete to work with. You shouldn't have to take anyone's word for the condition of your roof.
The roofs on Minnetonka's ramblers, two-stories and newer houses don't all age the same way. We work on three-tab shingles and architectural roofs bruised by hail. I look at the material and its condition, not just the age of the house. A newer-looking roof can still have damaged flashing, and an older roof doesn't always need replacing today.
Gutters need to carry water away from the roof, not let it spill behind the edge. We install and repair gutter systems and can include them in a roof project. Tell me where you're seeing overflow or water damage. I'll look at the roof and drainage together rather than treating them as separate problems.
We repair and replace townhome roofs too. On a compact footprint, the gutters need to move runoff away properly. Tell me which roof section is giving you trouble and where the water shows up. I'll check the roofing and the drainage so we understand the problem before picking a repair.
